From there make sure the VX2025wm is indicated in the Display, lower right find and select 'Advanced settings', that opens a popup Generic PnP Monitor and ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Properties, select the Monitor tab, it shows the screen refresh rate: 60 Hertz, and Colours True Color, i change the refresh to 75Hz and in a few sec the viewsonic displays an out of range notice, so within the 15 second 'Do You Want to Keep These Settings' timer i choose NO, and then the viewsonic finally displays properly.Ī bit tedious, but untill i can find a reasonable 120Hz 27 or 30" monitor to replace the viewsonic with, it has to do.Įventually i want a set of three 27 or 30" in portrait mode. Go to the 'Driver' tag and click the 'Update Driver' button.

What i do is rmc (Right Mouse Click) the desktop of the moniter that does work (Acer 27") and select screen resolution. Download the attached ZIP file including monitor drivers to your PC and extract it. I saw that someone was running 3 monitors with Ubuntu 8.10 and. I have a viewsonic monitor, ubuntu, intel. This package provides the driver for the Intel i8xx and i9xx. Get More Details about Supported Viewsonic Devices.
(problematic when certain programs/browsers open in that secondary display) DriverTuner will download and update your Viewsonic Drivers. The problem i am having with the moniter (it IDs as a Generic PnP Monitor in properties ) in a dual monitor setup, the viewsonic will not display.īoth monitors used to display in startup (showing the mobo flash screen) now after loging into w7 the viewsonic vx2025wm stays black. That tries to instal a bogus driverDective. A 1MB copy for W7.īut it seems to want to force a 7zip download manager/spyware install. I found access to various OS versions of the driver. This zip is just a EDIC/DDC EnCoding and Decoding Program
I don't know if the DVI cord, or the DVI output on the monitor was damaged, and I can't explain why, but swapping for a VGA cord into a converter solved this issue completely, so for anyone else going insane trying to figure out how to run this monitor in it's native resolution, give this a shot. Windows 7 loaded in 1680x1050 instantly and issue was totally resolved.īefore this I was running straight DVI from monitor to card and I couldn't so much as adjust the resolution far beyond 1024x768, even after installing latest Nvidia drivers, updating Windows 7, searching and installing numerous ViewSonic driver packages, or even trying to force/custom create an alternative resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel. What ones should I use?ģ.Bit late now for the OP, but for anyone else having this problem which is apparently common with the VX2025wm - after days of toiling, eventually, I tried using a VGA cable from the VGA output on the monitor, running it into a VGA/DVI converter into my videocards DVI input, and it solved the problem instantly. I have both the signed and unsigned versions and neither give me the appropriate resolutions to select, I am still maxxed out at 1600/1024.ġ.> How can I get the extra added resolutions for my monitor?Ģ.> Am I using the wrong drivers. I have installed the drivers that came on the Viewsonic 2012wb disk, and also direct from the viewsonic website. I have installed Nvidias newest graphics card drivers on the system so i think Im ok there. In the 'Monitor Settings' section, select the new refresh rate. Select 'Display adapter properties for Display X' (where X is the display ) Go to the 'Monitor' tab. But not even a selection for 1680x1050 and I sure I had that before but i would not swear on it. Switch to your desktop (minimize all with Windows-M), right click on an empty spot and select 'Display Settings'. When installing on the newer system I cant seem to get the 1680x1050 resolution from any drivers I have tried. I also have bought reciently and had working as far as I can remember on another computer this same monitor and graphics combonation(exact same cards, physically) I have a Nvidia Gforce 6800XT Graphics card bought about 2 years ago or so.
When I try to install them it says the monitor is unsupported. The Viewsonic drivers dont seem to be working with it. Now the problem is that it says my monitor is non-plug and play and I get a max resolution of 1024x768. I have a question about drivers and supported resolutions on graphics cards. When I boot up with the VGA connected I can plug in the DVI once I get to Windows.
